Where this method works
Collection lots can efficiently sell common material after high-priority coins have been removed and documented. The right method depends on coin quality, number of items, available time, family tolerance for risk and the difference between gross price and actual proceeds.
Questions to resolve
- Describe what was and was not searched.
- Use representative photos and honest quantities.
- Do not use “unsearched” when the collection has been examined.
Compare net outcomes
Record buyer fees, seller fees, shipping, insurance, grading, photography, return risk and payment time. A higher visible sale price can produce lower proceeds than a simpler transaction.
